About the Event
CROUCH END CHRONICLES
A quirky history of Crouch End in words and live music: from Roman days to the Radical Sixties and beyond. Plus a selection of some of Blacktooth's finest moments: from Great Eccentrics onwards
On June 15, we will be saying farewell to Hornsey Town Hall with a celebration of all things Crouch End.
‘Crouch End Chronicles’, a mixture of quirky readings, live music and raucous anecdotes, digs into local history and the characters who have helped make it: from Edward VII to Matt Monro, Joan Rhodes (Crouch End’s Strongest Woman) to Bob Dylan, the Suffragettes and contemporary writers such as Linda Grant and Stephen King.
As an added bonus, Blacktooth Productions (‘Big on Broadway: Crouch End Broadway’) will be celebrating its 13th birthday, with highlights from some of its milestone performances. Subjects range from Great Eccentrics and the Summer of Love to Bohemian Soho, Seaside Capers and the magic of the Animal Kingdom.
