About the Event

THE CROUCH END PLAYERS – TWO SHORT COMEDY PLAYS

CORBYN ISLAND & VIBRANTLY LIEU - Comedy double bill

Corbyn Island, a translation and modern adaptation of Marivaux’s The Island of Slaves, is a one-act comedy that satirises contemporary British society. It sees English football legend Dave Inglis and his glamorous wife Eve stranded on Corbyn Island, a Socialist Republic off the coast of England, after the boat on which they are partying with Dave’s team-mates is mysteriously blown up. How will they survive life on Corbyn Island?

Vibrantly Lieu, a short comedy play based on the realities of modern dating and the less than glamorous truth of the beauty industry. Young professional, Neve Turner has always wanted to present on the shopping network channel and finally gets her big break working with skincare brand Vibrantly Lieu. Will her unusual sales technique pay off?
