About the Event

Community Futures and Utopia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow – use and re-use strategies for Hornsey Town Hall

An exhibition of architectural design schemes for the temporary and future use of Hornsey Town Hall

An exhibition of interior architecture schemes for the use and future use of Hornsey Town Hall by Middlesex University’s BA(Hons) Interior Architecture students and MA Interior Design students from the School of Design, Politecnico di Milano (Polimi). The projects exhibited contemplate the past, examine the present and imagine the near futures of Hornsey Town Hall, through architectural drawings, images, video, including a 1:200 scale model of the Town Hall and Square. The Exhibition has been designed by Elisa Zobbi, Polimi with graphics by Francesca Avian, and curated by Graeme Evans and Francesca Murialdo with Naomi House, Middlesex School of Art & Design. The exhibition is also part of the month long London Festival of Architecture (www.londonfestivalofarchitecture.org/programme) and sponsored by the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Community Futures & Utopia Festival celebrating the 600th anniversary of Thomas More’s Utopia. The free exhibition will be held throughout the Crouch End Festival, 10th-19th June, starting in the ground floor Ply Gallery of the Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre.
